"IF I WERE BUT A DREAM"

If I were but a dream
I could be the fiery final embers
of this day's setting sun
If I were but a dream

If I were but a dream
I could blossom as a blushing rose
radiant with life
If I were but a dream

If I were but a dream
I could reach ever upward
caressing the clouds that float in the sky
If I were but a dream

If I were but a dream
I could be a soft white feather
fallen from an angel's wing
If I were but a dream

If I were but a dream
I could be sir knight in silver armor
a fair maiden's cherished guardian
If I were but a dream

If I were but a dream
I could be the song of a woodland thrush
dancing through the air
If I were but a dream

If I were but a dream
I could melt away with mornings first light
A whispered memory left upon the soul
If I were but a dream
