"Love Poems" by Hank Chamberlain
A Walk on the Beach

We walked along a moon lit beach
and listened to the crashing surf
     only inches out of reach
on we walked in silence
     As the crystal moonlight glimmered
on glistening soft wet sand
I felt a warmth build deep inside
caused by the touch of your hand
I felt a rush of excitement
cooled by the tropical breeze
the intoxicating fragrance of the evening's soft bouquet
made my legs grow weak, nearly brought me to my knees
     Temptation was the victor
as I pulled you close to me
to share the warmth that rose inside
and hold you tenderly
In the soft moonlight of a gentle eve
I fell in love with you
our bodies then reflected the love
that made one where once was two

Sunsets & Sea Gulls

The sun paints the sky crimson and pink
as the sea gulls glide across the bay
I sip my wine and watch and think
and witness the close of another day

But this day was different then others I've known
I shared the time between dark and daylight
with a woman whose heart and soul I now own
When she sees me, her face glows so bright

How could I help but fall in love with this girl
This beautiful lass with her auburn hair
I think of her and my heart does a twirl
and where she is, I wish I was there

I own her heart, her mind and her soul
She tells me this will always be true
She tells me that I make her feel whole
But I can tell you, she owns me too

As the sunset fades and the stars up above
twinkle like lights in my lover's eyes
I promise you dear all my love
and you light my world till the next sunrise

White Sea

In the sunset's gently fading light
there lies a sea of wrinkled white
In the room now only shadows play
Where moments before there was much delight
Now only evidence of the lovers' fray
The sheets and pillows tell a story
of passion that expressed love's glory
At sunset on a distant shore
love's greatest gift was exchanged once more
and in those hours of golden light
On that sea of wrinkled white
two hearts did merge to become just one
As the lovers played in the setting sun

To Love Again

I rise with the sun
to hear her voice
I love only one
for I have no choice
If I were there or she was here
both days and nights
would fill with cheer
Sleep would not come
when day turned to night
instead the dark
would be pure delight
Now I dream
of the love I desire
I hear her voice
over a wire
Soon we'll meet
as we did before
My love will be mine
on a distant shore
