"HITCHHIKING"

Do you remember that day
Thom
Do you remember that day
And the snow and the springs
of the mountain that sings
and the grass that travels up to the road
and the cars that pass you so fast
and the stares
and the glares
from the ladies so fair
through the cars back window

Do you remember that day
Thom
Do you remember that day
and the stares
and the glares
from the ladies so fair
you finally got a ride
and you sit there full of pride
and the thump thump thump
of the door and the trunk
and the thump pity thump
of the music
of the band
playing on the radio
The girls were charming
chancing
advancing
and romancing
your head in a spin
round and round
out and in

Never again
Thom
never again
your finally going home
you've left your life at the side of the road
no sound on the road where you wait
no ride on the road going home
no sound
only boom
in the nights silent gloom
