Arif Khudairi, a poet, novelist and translator, earned his PhD in Arabic
literature from Cairo University and taught in various universities in
Egypt, the USA, Korea, Malaysia and Brunei Darussalam. He published seven
volumes of poetry including Trees Leaves(Pentland,Durham,1998). A number of
his works have been translated into Malay, English and Urdu. He is the
author of a number of short story collections, including Tales from the
Arabian Sahara (Minerva Press, London,1998). His novel The Eighth Voyage of
Sindbad has been recently published in London (Minerva,1999).
